This quilt was presented to Oberlin Community Services by Kitty Denny-Smith
and Geneva (GiGi) Denny Jones. Their mother, Kathryn M. Chinn Denny hand-pieced
it (ca. 1937). Lois Harbaugh hand-quilted it in 2001-02. It is now hanging
in our meeting room.
According to Kitty, “GiGi and I chose OCS because we can think of no better place for this quilt to call home. The words to my mother’s favorite song are: ‘if I can help somebody as I travel along, then my living shall not be in vain.’
