Fairchild Residents Bring Holiday Cheer to Area Families

Photographs and text by Sue Kropp

Schwartz, Tobin, Kraal, Tal, Beswick, and Goldberg work the assembly line at the community center, packing canned items, fresh produce, and even turkeys into grocery bags. The bags were distributed to over 210 area residents yesterday, in time for the holidays.

Caseworkers from the community center and local volunteers work with the students from Fairchild Hall.

Danny Longsworth-Orr, a caseworker at the community center and coordinator of the center's food distribution program, adds the finishing touches to each grocery bag--a five-pound sack of potatoes.

In less than an hour, the volunteers finished their task, and the holiday food bags were ready for distribution.
