OCS Hosts "Empty Bowls" Event

November 19, 2009 -- Oberlin Community Services hosted an "Empty Bowls" meal during Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week on Thursday, November 19, 2009. OPIRG (Ohio Public Interest and Research Group) co-sponsored the event and the Oberlin College Pottery Co-Op supplied hand-made bowls that participants received with their meal. Soup, bread, and drinks were provided by area restaurants. More than $2,700 was raised for Family Promise of Lorain County.
